Mindfullness

We all have our own way to get a peaceful moment in our daily life. That's why I'm a strong believer in hobbies. If making music in some way would disappear from my life I'm 100% sure I would find something else to do, some other way to be creative. As I'm writing this blogpost making beats is my main hobby and source of mindfulness but I also have some other stuff I do besides this. About 3 years ago I decided to finally buy my self a good camera and taking pictures and expressing my self thru the lens of my camera has become a new outlet for me to be creative. The camera I have is a Canon M50 mk1 and I have collected a few lenses for it the past years. My main ones be the canon 50mm and a sigma 55 - 200mm lens. From trying to learn a new craft to have my photos at sale at a gallery.

This is a picture of Rådhuset in Lidköping, where I live with my family. A square B&W picture of a landmark here in my city. There is just something about taking a picture and making art out of it, that fulfills me in such a satisfying way. And the best part is that taking pictures kinda goes hand in hand with making music because good picture quality is something that every artist or producer needs. So basically it is a skill that enhances another skill. That's how I see it anyway. The main reason for writing this post is to maybe inspire some one to try out a new hobby alongside your main one and maybe try to forge them together. Who knows, the results might be fantastic. The best part about framing your pictures is that it doesn't have to cost you that much. Just take a look at my next picture down below.

This is a night photo I took and I went to our local printer and asked him to print it out for me. He gave me a good deal off 400kr wich is about 40usd and the frame is from Dollarstore and the price was 99kr or 9usd. So for basically 500kr or 50usd you can have your pictures decorating your home or maybe sell it and have someone else decorate their home with it. The picture in the gallery is made by a professional and just the frame and glass costed 1700kr or 170usd but we made a deal that she would take the price tag of when it gets sold so I didn't pay anything. Go and talk to your local gallery, get to know people. At my local photostore/camerastore, I have gotten to know the owner a bit now, and he is already giving me good deals on equipment. I hope this post might be inspiring in some way for you, the reader, have a nice day! / Sam Pell
